Worn cloth, dead bumpers or a table that rolls off? Most tables don't need replacing, they need a tune-up. We do the work in your home, usually in a single visit.

Refelting

New cloth is the biggest upgrade you can give a table. We strip the old cloth and glue, stretch new cloth tight over the slate and rails, and reset the rails so the cushions line up.

Standard cloth

Woolen cloth for home tables. Plays well, comes in lots of colors and holds up to family use.

Tournament cloth

Worsted cloth with a tight, fast weave. Truer rolls, less pilling and it lasts longer. [Confirm brands offered]

Recushioning

Cushion rubber dries out and hardens with age. Once it goes, the ball comes off the rail slow and short, and no amount of skill fixes that. New rubber brings the rails back to life.

Signs your cushions are done

  • The ball dies off the rail or makes a dull thud
  • Cushions feel hard, cracked or have flat spots
  • Bank shots come up short no matter how you hit them
  • The table is 20+ years old and has original rubber

Installs, leveling & other repairs

New table install

Bought a new table that arrived in boxes? We build it, set and level the slate, and cloth it.

Re-leveling

Floors settle and tables drift. If balls roll toward one end, a re-level fixes it.

Pockets

Torn leather or ripped nets replaced to match your table's style. [Confirm]

Loose rails & frame

Wobbly rails, stripped bolts and loose legs tightened up and squared. [Confirm]

Refelt & repair questions

How do I know my table needs new felt?
Bald or shiny spots, tears, pilling, or balls that drift instead of rolling straight. If the cloth is loose, it may just need re-stretching.
How often should a pool table be refelted?
It depends on how much it's played. A lightly used home table can go many years. Replace it when you see bald spots, tears, pilling or the ball stops rolling straight.
How long does a refelt take?
[Typical time for a refelt in your home.] You can play as soon as we leave.
What's the difference between standard and tournament cloth?
Standard woolen cloth is great for home play. Tournament worsted cloth is a tighter weave that plays faster and truer and lasts longer. More on cloth.
Should I recushion at the same time?
If your rubber is old, yes. The rails are already off for the refelt, so doing both at once costs less than two separate visits.
Is my old table worth fixing?
If it has real slate and a solid frame, usually yes. New cloth and cushions make an older table play like new for far less than a replacement.
